Sharing the Awesome Author ~ Karla Brandenburg

My life is filled with love and laughter thanks to the amazing people I get to hang out with. As well as being awesome, they’re creative, talented, generous, and fun! I thought you might like to meet some of the authors I know, so I’ve asked them to come and give us a behind-the-scenes look at what they’re passionate about. I have to warn you though – creativity is contagious!

Today’s guest is Karla Brandenburg, author of the award-winning paranormal MIST series. She is a card-carrying cookie-holic (we have a lot in common!), and enjoys baking and travel.

Karla, what genre do you write and why that one? K: I write romance, mostly because that’s what I grew up with and I am a romantic at heart. I tried to write a quest novel my first try out of the gate, but I kept stumbling on the hero and the heroine and how much they liked each other! Needless to say, the quest turned into a romance and they found more than they were looking for!

Romance found you. If you could do one thing over differently what would you do? K: You know, I believe everything in our lives makes us stronger and we benefit from the experience. For that reason, I don’t know that I would do anything differently. I am who I am because of the experiences I’ve had.

Any advice for aspiring writers? K: As with anything, practice makes perfect. Grow a thick skin, understand when criticism will make you stronger.

Great advice! What song would be your theme song? K: Set the World on Fire by Britt Nicole

What would you pick as a superpower? K: You know the ghost of Christmas present and his horn of goodwill? I want one of those.

What’s your favourite dessert? K: Chocolate soufflé with cream sauce on top. MMMMM

Sounds delicious – and of course, light! 😀 Karla, thank you very much for stopping by and congratulations on your new release. Happy sales!

Here’s a bit about Karla’s new release is  EPITAPH 2: The Twins

Although she vowed never to go back, nurse Siobhan McCormick returns home after two family members have died and her brother’s life is threatened. Her new job introduces her to accident victim Jared Pierce, a man whose casual charm tempts her with the same bad decisions she made in high school.

Haunted houses don’t sell, and Jared Pierce’s family sends him from Louisiana to Illinois to make sure there aren’t any ghosts lingering in his great-aunt’s house. An accident on an icy road extends his visit from a few days to a few months.

Though the house is ghost-free when Jared arrives, a violent ice storm breaks apart a tree and releases the spirits of twin boys who were buried in the backyard. Temporarily disabled by his injuries, Jared needs his nurse’s help to give the ghosts peace. There’s only one problem. Siobhan doesn’t believe in ghosts. Will Jared earn her trust and affection or will Siobhan retreat into the safety of her job?

  1. Comment by Terry Odell:

Congratulations on the new release. I’ve read both books in this series, and recommend them to anyone who likes a touch of ‘woo woo’ with their romance.
